Can you give a special gift to a child at the Royal Blind School this Christmas?

Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year, and this year we want it to be the best Christmas yet for children at The Royal Blind School.

This Christmas, we want to give children at the Royal Blind School new specialist equipment and toys to unwrap.

Equipment and toys that will not only bring joy and laughter to the children's faces, but will also support their development, help them communicate and do things they and their parents never thought possible.

Please give a special gift this Christmas that will help to bring joy to the faces of blind and partially sighted children.

Racerunner

A RaceRunner is a lightweight and stable running bike that gives children with disabilities the freedom to run on their own. The bike will help pupils at the Royal Blind School in a wide range of ways; it will help to strengthen muscles, improve balance, increase self-confidence and independence, develop new skills and, of course, provide lots of fun and excitement.

High-quality beanbags

We urgently need a range of new comfy and durable bean bags for our pupils to enjoy and have somewhere to relax. The bean bags will make it easier for our children to sit down, helping to reduce anxiety and body awareness; provide back support to growing bones and encourage better posture; and ease pressure on limbs and joints to reduce physical stress.

Sensory animal toys

These colourful sensory animal toys live in our library and will be used by our teachers during story time to produce sounds that help to bring stories to life, encourage children to make sounds and interact with each other and develop fine motor skills.
